Softball Recap: Peak to Peak Extends Winning Streak to Three

Peak to Peak had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They blew past the Kennedy Commanders 15-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-2 back in September.

Karina Lefort was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Peak to Peak let Peyton Eckert and Evelyn Kraft run wild. Eckert went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Kraft went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Kraft a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haley Haskins, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Peak to Peak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Peak to Peak's record is now 9-13. As for Kennedy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13-1.

Looking ahead, Peak to Peak will venture away from home to face off against The Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.05 runs per game on average), something the Pumas will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kennedy, they will welcome Arvada at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
