Football Recap: Yutan Piles Up the Points Against Conestoga

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yutan). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Conestoga Cougars 54-6. The win continues a trend for the Chieftains in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Yutan found their leader in sophomore Kaleb Fenner, who rushed for 130 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. With that strong performance, Fenner is now averaging an impressive 100.5 rushing yards per game. Otto Henkel was another key player, rushing for 81 yards and one score on only ten carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Yutan proved: they limited Conestoga to a paltry -1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Henkel for the heroic effort on defense: he. Yutan didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged eight.

Yutan's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Conestoga, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Yutan and Conestoga will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Chieftains are set to take on their familiar foe Bergan Catholic on Friday. Meanwhile, Conestoga will challenge rival Malcolm on Friday.
