Soccer Recap: Murray County Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Murray County and Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, and Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe kept the tradition alive. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors who were credited with the win on Tuesday. The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Murray County Indians' three. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Murray County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Murray County will welcome Coahulla Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they will host Ringgold at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
