Basketball Recap: Coleville Triumphs

Coleville won the last time they faced Mineral County, and Kenna Lange did her part to make sure it happened again. The Coleville Wolves blew past the Mineral County Serpents 56-19 on Friday thanks in part to Lange, who went 9 of 16 on her way to 19 points along with seven boards and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last six games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Yasminne Acero, who posted eight points and three steals. What's more, she also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Mineral County lost, don't look at Raeane Johnson. Despite the final result, she put up 13 points. That was a full 68.4% of Mineral County's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Coleville's record is now 8-10. As for Mineral County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Coleville and Sage Ridge will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Mineral County, they will head out to square off against Smith Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
