Softball Recap: Lincoln Northeast Takes a Loss

Lincoln Northeast extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-6. They lost 12-1 to the Kearney Bearcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-5 on Wednesday.

Lincoln Northeast saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn VanDyke, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Kearney, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

On Kearney's side, they got a big performance out of Ava Magnani, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexa Jacobsen, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Lincoln Northeast has already played their next match, an 18-0 victory against Lincoln High on the 28th. As for Kearney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 20-12 win against Fremont on the 28th.
