Palmyra-Eagle dropped down to 10-5 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Big Foot Chiefs by a score of 9-8. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chiefs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2017.

Palmyra-Eagle saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Aukofer, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Johnny Burrill also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Big Foot, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 6-13 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 22, 2025.

On Big Foot's side, Eli Hansen made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Hansen a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Quincy Torrez was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Chase Wilson was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Looking ahead, Palmyra-Eagle will welcome Fall River at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Big Foot, they will head out to square off against Parkview at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
