Soccer Game Preview: Beecher vs. Herscher

The Beecher Bobcats will square off against the Herscher Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Beecher's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last three matches.

Herscher better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Beecher's game on Saturday is any indication, that's when Beecher really gets things going. The Bobcats never let Momence get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Considering Beecher have won 14 contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Herscher entered their matchup against Peotone on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tigers fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Herscher's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Beecher has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those five contests. As for Herscher, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5-2.
