Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Delran's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Delran rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Delaware Valley Terriers with a sharp 13-3 win. Considering the Bears have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Delran got a great performance from Olivia Powell as she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Delran let Gemma DeJoseph and Elaina Faux run wild. DeJoseph went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Faux went 2-for-3 with four RBI. That's the most RBI Faux has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Danielle Gorman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Delran has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Delaware Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 17-6 record.

Delran didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 defeat against Johnson on the 6th. Delaware Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
