Basketball Recap: Sydney Thomas Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Sage Creek

Academy of Our Lady of Peace posted their closest victory since February 9, 2024 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Sage Creek Bobcats 43-40.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sydney Thomas led the charge by putting up 16 points and seven boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least a third of Academy of Our Lady of Peace's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandria Morland-Tellez, who posted four points and 11 rebounds.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace's victory bumped their record up to 4-22. As for Sage Creek, their defeat was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-20.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-42 loss against High Tech SD on the 11th. As for Sage Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-16 defeat against Carlsbad on the 12th.
