Baseball Recap: Newaygo Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Newaygo duked it out with Grant on Saturday. The Lions fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since April 28th.

Newaygo has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-13-1 record this season. As for Grant, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-6.

Grant has already played their next game, a 7-3 victory against White Cloud on the 16th. Hopefully Newaygo paid attention to the Tigers' matchup: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
