Baseball Recap: Astoria/VIT Comes Up Short

Astoria/VIT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 14-3 to the Macomb Bombers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Astoria/VIT saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colby Martin, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Astoria/VIT's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Macomb, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Astoria/VIT will face off against Illini Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Macomb, they will take on Hamilton/Warsaw at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
