Softball Recap: St. Dominic Takes a Loss

St. Dominic suffered their biggest loss since August 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 12-4 to the Jackson Fighting Indians. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Crusaders, who until this contest were averaging 3.35 runs allowed.

St. Dominic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ana Fleck, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Dominic and nudges their season record down to 10-7. As for Jackson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Dominic will venture away from home to square off against Incarnate Word Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Knights have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwest at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
