After a string of nine wins, O'Farrell Charter's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mountain Empire Redhawks by a score of 3-2. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redhawks earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

O'Farrell Charter took Mountain Empire into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Rowan Smith had an outrageously good game for Mountain Empire as she had 41 digs and two assists. Those 41 digs gave Smith a new career-high.

O'Farrell Charter's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 17-5. As for Mountain Empire, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7.
