Basketball Game Preview: Sacramento Waldorf Waves vs. Foresthill Wildfires

The Sacramento Waldorf Waves are taking a road trip to face off against the Foresthill Wildfires at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sacramento Waldorf will be strutting in after a victory while Foresthill will be coming in after a loss.

Sacramento Waldorf is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Buckingham Charter: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Sacramento Waldorf blew Buckingham Charter out of the water with a 43-5 final score. The Waves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Foresthill has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against Weston Ranch on Monday, falling 49-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildfires have suffered since January 11th.

Amy Saxelby was Foresthill's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Saxelby also led the team in rebounds with seven. Brianna Miller took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Sacramento Waldorf has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Foresthill, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

Sacramento Waldorf came up short against Foresthill in their previous matchup back in January, falling 35-22. Can Sacramento Waldorf avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
