Basketball Recap: Maycee Fox's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Huntingdon over Penn Cambria

It was a proper cat-fight when Huntingdon faced off against Penn Cambria on Friday. The Huntingdon Bearcats received a blow as they fell 58-44 to the Penn Cambria Panthers. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 64-40 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maycee Fox, who posted eight points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lily Fiscus, who went 5 for 12 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Huntingdon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matches.

Among those leading the charge was Addy Hite, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points and eight boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. MaKenna McCoy was another key player, putting up nine points.

Huntingdon has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Penn Cambria, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Huntingdon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-42 win against Bellwood-Antis on the 3rd. As for Penn Cambria, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 65-50 defeat against Westmont Hilltop on the 3rd.
