Basketball Game Preview: Vintage Crushers vs. Wood Wildcats + Official Tickets

Vintage and Wood are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Crushers will venture away from home to take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wood took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Vintage, who comes in off a win.

While Vintage's win against Pioneer wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Crushers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 victory over the Patriots on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crushers have posted since January 4th.

Luna Aguilar Loera continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7-for-13 to rack up 16 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds. Those eight assists gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samantha Kennedy, who posted five points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Wood played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by St. Francis 65-35. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Troubadours recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Vintage's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Wood, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Vintage didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Wood in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 40-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crushers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
