Soccer Recap: Porterville Takes a Loss

Porterville lost against Redwood on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Porterville Panthers came up short against the Redwood Rangers, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 490th, while the Rangers are ranked 36th).

Porterville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-4. As for Redwood, they pushed their record up to 15-0-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Porterville will venture away from home to challenge Golden West at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Golden West's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Redwood has already played their next game (against Monache), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
