Pueblo County hadn't done well against Discovery Canyon recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Saturday. The Hornets walked away with  an   8-4  victory over the Thunder. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Hornets.
 Kamdyn Toussaint spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Isabella Mares, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double.  Rylie Sanchez also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  triple of the season.
Pueblo County's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Discovery Canyon, their loss was  their fifth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 6-14.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming  contests. Pueblo County will challenge Pine Creek at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last four games. As for Discovery Canyon, they will square off against Cheyenne Mountain at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Thunder's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red-Tailed Hawks have averaged an impressive 9.4  runs per game this season.
