Softball Recap: Ladue Horton Watkins' Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Ladue Horton Watkins lost against Ritenour back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rams took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies.

Caroline Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ladue Horton Watkins saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nylah Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Sabra Fink also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ladue Horton Watkins' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-7. As for Ritenour, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ladue Horton Watkins will venture away from home to take on Hazelwood Central at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ritenour, they will take on St. Dominic at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Crusaders will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
