Softball Recap: Raymond Central Comes Up Short

If Raymond Central was riding high fresh off their 14-6 takedown of North Bend Central on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell 13-10 to the Fillmore Central Panthers on Saturday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2016.

Raymond Central got a massive performance out of Makenna Hellerich, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Maja Matulka was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Raymond Central now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Fillmore Central, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Coincidentally, Raymond Central and Fillmore Central will both be playing Twin River the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Titans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 1:30 p.m.
