Basketball Recap: Southwestern Academy Comes Up Short

Southwestern Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by the San Gabriel Academy Eagles and fell 55-10. The Sun were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-3.

Several Sun players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zayra Valdez, who posted four points. The dominant performance gave Valdez a new career-high in points.

Southwestern Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for San Gabriel Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Southwestern Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-4 loss against Santa Clarita Christian on the 14th. As for San Gabriel Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sacramento Adventist at 9:30 a.m. on December 30th.
