Basketball Recap: Norwalk Takes a Loss

After flying high against Firebaugh last Wednesday, Norwalk came back down to earth. The matchup between the Norwalk Lancers and the Dominguez Dons didn't end well, with the Norwalk Lancers falling 55-36. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 918th, while the Dons are ranked 384th).

Leading Dominguez to victory were MYA HARRIS and NGOZI OKOYE. HARRIS dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards, while OKOYE almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. HARRIS is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was KAYLA SCOTT, who posted 13 points.

Norwalk has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Dominguez, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

Norwalk wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 37-19 win against Glenn on the 27th. As for Dominguez, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-30 victory against Maywood CES on the 25th.
