Softball Recap: Coffee Sets Scoring Season-High Against Northside + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coffee). Everything went their way against the Northside Eagles on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Coffee got a massive performance out of Jocelyn Fender, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Fender a new career-high. Karlee Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Coffee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northside only posted an OBP of .071.

Coffee is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Northside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coffee will venture away from home to square off against Tift County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 2.8, the Blue Devils 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Northside, they will head out on the road to take on Crawford County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games Crawford County has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
