Basketball Recap: East Union Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact East Union can now relate to. The match between the East Union Lancers and the Immanuel Eagles didn't end well, with the East Union Lancers falling 66-48. The Lancers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Leading Immanuel to victory were Kiera Thomas and Ava Schletewitz. Thomas posted 21 points and three steals, while Schletewitz shot 63% from the field to rack up 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 24 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Adelina 'Nana' Moreno, who earned eight points and five boards.

East Union's defeat dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Immanuel, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 28-5.

East Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Immanuel, they will challenge Chico at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Immanuel's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
