Soccer Game Preview: Pacific Grove vs. Palma

The Pacific Grove Breakers will face off against the Palma Chieftains at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacific Grove's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Pacific Grove fell victim to Stevenson and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 5-0. That's two games in a row now that the Breakers have lost by exactly five goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Palma, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let Santa Catalina onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Friday. The Chieftains wouldn't have won without Allison Guerra, who scored the game-winner.

Palma was without their leading scorer, Genesis Vasquez, in Friday's game. With Vasquez sitting this one out, Yazmin Alvarado Ramirez got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. her season average of 61.7).

The win got Palma back to even at 3-3-1. As for Pacific Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
