Recap: Homer-Center Wildcats vs. United Lions
If the Homer-Center Wildcats were feeling good off their 60-25 takedown of the Purchase Line Red Dragons two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Homer-Center suffered a rough 54-29 loss at the hands of United on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Homer-Center can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while United is ranked 137th).
It was another big night for Delaney Perrone, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds for United. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perrone has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddison McGinnis, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Homer-Center now has a losing record at 5-6. As for United, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Homer-Center will head out on the road to challenge River Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday. As for United, they will be playing at home against Northern Cambria at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
