Football Recap: Mt. St. Michael Academy Starts Season with Win Against Kennedy Catholic

Mt. St. Michael Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 30-14 victory over the Kennedy Catholic Gaels on Friday. The Mountaineers haven't had any issues with the Gaels recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Mt. St. Michael Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shamari Ormsby, who rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. That's the most rushing yards Ormsby has posted since back in October of 2024. Ryan Reid did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 88 receiving yards.

Looking ahead, Mt. St. Michael Academy will challenge Christ the King at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kennedy Catholic, they will square off against Croton-Harmon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
