Volleyball Recap: Bayside Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bayside Academy can now relate to. They came up short against the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets on Thursday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Admirals have suffered since September 18th.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-14, 25-19.

Reece Wilmott paced Bayside Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. Wilmott got some help from Sophie Hester and her 15 assists. Wilmott was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McGill-Toolen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bella Smith, who had 13 digs and three assists. Another player making a difference was Camille Fromdahl, who had 11 digs.

Bayside Academy moved to 32-17 with that loss, which also ended their four-match winning streak. As for McGill-Toolen, the win (which was their 38th in a row) raised their record to 44-2.

As of now, neither Bayside Academy nor the Yellowjackets have any future games scheduled.
