Kearney waltzed into their game on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the St. Francis Borgia Knights a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Kate Landewee's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 18 Ks. Those 18 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Alyssa Quick was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Stumpenhaus, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Kearney's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for St. Francis Borgia, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-6.
As of now, neither Kearney nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
