Basketball Game Preview: Foothill Mustangs vs. Fairfield Falcons

The Foothill Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Fairfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Foothill has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 7.

On Monday, Foothill had to suffer through a 70-27 loss at the hands of Armijo.

Meanwhile, Fairfield was not able to break out of their rough patch last Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 43-23 to Northgate. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Broncos are ranked 160th).

Foothill will need focus on slowing down Mayana Williams, one of several Fairfield players who made an impact when they last played. She posted six points. Another player making a difference was Kayana Mickey, who put up six points.

Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Foothill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.

Foothill was taken down by Fairfield 56-17 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Thankfully for Foothill, ZaRaya Porter (who went 6 of 9 on her way to 12 points and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
