Basketball Recap: West Philadelphia Continues Home Dominance on Friday

West Philadelphia extended their home winning streak to 15 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Badji Tall. The West Philadelphia Speedboys really took it to the Overbrook Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-6 win thanks in part to Tall, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kashay Ryder, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points and eight rebounds. She has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played.

West Philadelphia's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Overbrook, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

West Philadelphia will head out to challenge Martin Luther King at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in West Philadelphia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches. As for Overbrook, they will host John Bartram at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Overbrook is facing John Bartram at the right time seeing as John Bartram is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
