Basketball Game Preview: San Marin Mustangs vs. Rodriguez Mustangs

The San Marin Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Rodriguez Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Marin will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, San Marin took their game with ease, bagging a 48-17 victory over Vintage. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Crushers are ranked 828th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Rodriguez over Berean Christian in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Rodriguez blew past Berean Christian 50-25. The matchup marked the Mustangs' most dominant win of the season so far.

San Marin pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.7 points per game. As for Rodriguez, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

San Marin didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Rodriguez when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 45-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Marin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
