High school football: Longest road trips of the 2022 season, including a nearly 5,000-mile journey from Maryland to Hawaii

Aloha State teams involved in the 12 longest prep football odysseys of the fall.
With travel restrictions easing, high school football teams from Hawaii are back in the game when it comes to taking on programs from other states. In fact, Aloha State teams as the host or visitor are involved in the 12 longest road trips of the 2022 season.
The longest journey by far is a Sept. 30 meeting between preseason MaxPreps Top 25 No. 3
St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) going all the way out to
Kahuku (Hawaii) near the northern tip of Oahu. That trip will cover 4,843 miles, blowing away the second longest on our list by nearly 1,900 miles.
Read on for a look at the 20 longest distances teams will travel this fall, featuring teams from 13 states and seven teams featured in the preseason MaxPreps Top 25.

Texas commit Liona Lefau and Kahuku (Hawaii) will be traveling to Nevada this season and welcoming a team from Maryland to the islands.
