McConnellsburg had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They came out on top against the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs by a score of 40-33. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 467th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Claysburg-Kimmel's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Tipton, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Jae Larson, who had three points and four steals.

McConnellsburg's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McConnellsburg will square off against Fannett Metal at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they will challenge Northern Bedford County at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
