Basketball Recap: Etna Takes a Loss

Etna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 42-31 to the Mt. Shasta Bears. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 37-35.

Mt. Shasta found their leader in sophomore Kaley Lanier, who dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 13 boards, and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lanier has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emily Pigoni, who posted six points along with seven steals and six rebounds.

Etna's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Mt. Shasta, the win snapped their losing streak at 13 games and leaves them with a 3-17 record.

Etna has already played their next match (against Fall River), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mt. Shasta will square off against Durham at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
