Softball Recap: Cairo Has No Trouble Against Westover

Cairo came out on top against Westover on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Syrupmakers blew past the Patriots 15-3. The result was nothing new for the Syrupmakers, who have now won four matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Cairo has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Westover, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Cairo will square off against rival Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Westover is set to challenge their familiar foe Peach County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
