Soccer Game Preview: Seckinger vs. Monroe Area

The Seckinger Jaguars will head out on the road to square off against the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seckinger, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Monroe Area's (thus far) undefeated season.

While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was East Jackson who was credited with the win on Friday. East Jackson got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Seckinger's one.

Monroe Area's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Purple Hurricanes were the better team in the second half.

Monroe Area's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Seckinger, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Seckinger took their win against Monroe Area in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seckinger since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
