Football Recap: St. Marys Comes Up Short

St. Marys lost against Silver Lake back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bears took a 21-6 bruising from the Eagles.

Lane Smith threw for 181 yards on ten of 24 attempts. Ben DeVader was his top target, picking up 86 receiving yards.

Bryson Burgos had a dynamite game For Silver Lake., rushing for 135 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.

St. Marys' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Silver Lake, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Marys will square off against Riley County on Friday. As for Silver Lake, they will face off against Baldwin on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
