Basketball Recap: Riverview Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Riverview's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 55-48 win over the St. Joseph Spartans. This was payback for the Raiders, who suffered a 54-32 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Riverview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katerina Tsambis, who went 9-for-21 on her way to 26 points. Tsambis is becoming a predictor of Riverview's success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 14-1 (and 0-3 when she doesn't). Lily Bauer was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards.

Riverview is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 35.3% in those games and 24% outside of them. As for St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Coming up, Riverview will welcome Serra Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Serra Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. St. Joseph does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
