Basketball Game Preview: Garces Memorial Rams vs. Liberty Patriots

Garces Memorial is 1-9 against Liberty since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Garces Memorial Rams will look to defend their home court against the Liberty Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Garces Memorial is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Frontier on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Garces Memorial was beaten by Frontier 73-13. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-9.

Meanwhile, Liberty came up short against Centennial on Tuesday, falling 53-33. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while the Golden Hawks are ranked 148th).

Liberty now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Garces Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-21.

Garces Memorial was dealt a bruising 54-22 loss at the hands of Liberty in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Liberty's Ellee Statler, who posted 18 points and five steals.
