Softball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Chandler's Winning Streak

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Chandler finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They came up short against the Yukon Millers, falling 6-0. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Kennedy Allen spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chandler saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halle Herrmann, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Chandler's defeat dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Yukon, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Coming up, Chandler will host Davenport at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 1.4, the Bulldogs 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Yukon, they are taking a road trip to face off against Cache at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.
