Basketball Recap: Central Heights Falls Despite Big Games from Melaney Chrisjohn and Carly Matile

Central Heights was the 30-27 winner over West Franklin when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Central Heights Vikings fell 36-25 to the West Franklin Falcons on Tuesday.

Carly Matile and Melaney Chrisjohn certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Matile posted seven points and three steals, while Chrisjohn put up six points and three steals. Those seven points gave Matile a new career-high.

Central Heights has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. West Franklin's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14.

Looking ahead, Central Heights will face off against Oswego at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
