Basketball Game Preview: Marian Catholic vs. Oley Valley Lynx

Marian Catholic is 3-0 against Oley Valley since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Marian Catholic will take on the Oley Valley Lynx in a tournament on Friday. Marian Catholic will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Marian Catholic is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Tri-Valley: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Marian Catholic blew Tri-Valley out of the water with a 59-28 final score. Marian Catholic has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Marian Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addy Marek out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Marek has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Addison Fritz, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Marian Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Oley Valley took care of business in their home opener on December 7th (barely). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Boyertown, sneaking past 52-49.

Marian Catholic's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Oley Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
