Basketball Game Preview: Etiwanda Eagles vs. Ontario Christian Knights

The Etiwanda Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Ontario Christian Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Etiwanda knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 26 games -- so hopefully Ontario Christian likes a good challenge.

Etiwanda is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Mater Dei by a score of 67-57. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Monarchs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Ontario Christian had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.9 points) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Saturday. They walked away with a 69-57 win over the Trailblazers.

Etiwanda better keep an eye on Kaleena Smith. She was instrumental in Ontario Christian's win, dropping a double-double with 29 points and ten assists. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tati Griffin, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Etiwanda pushed their record up to 26-5 with the victory, which was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.8 points over those games. As for Ontario Christian, their win bumped their record up to 30-1.

Etiwanda couldn't quite finish off Ontario Christian when the teams last played last Saturday and fell 65-63. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Griffin, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 11 boards.
