McGill-Toolen had already won 27 in a row and they went ahead and made it 28 on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Athens Golden Eagles.

McGill-Toolen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alice Wood, who had 23 assists and two aces. Wood has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Smith, who had eight digs and one assist.

McGill-Toolen's victory bumped their record up to 34-2. As for Athens, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-18 record this season.

McGill-Toolen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Southside on the 10th. Athens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
