Softball Recap: Blair Takes Down Ranked Waverly

Blair faced Waverly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bears came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 12-9. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on London Larsen, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Taylor Munger also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Blair's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Waverly, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.

Blair will take on Elkhorn North at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Waverly, they will face off against York at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dukes have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
