Saratoga came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wilcox Chargers a 1-0 shutout. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Chargers are ranked 1003rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Saratoga pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those seven matchups. As for Wilcox, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
