Basketball Game Preview: High Tech CV Bruins vs. San Ysidro Cougars

The High Tech CV Bruins will head out on the road to square off against the San Ysidro Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Thursday, High Tech CV ended up a good deal behind Foothills Christian and lost 42-28. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

High Tech CV might have lost, but man, Ella Navarro was a machine: she posted 26 points. Navarro's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Meanwhile, San Ysidro was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 29-24 to Orange Glen.

High Tech CV will have to contain Kimberly Valdez as she made an impact in San Ysidro's last game. She had 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Ruiz, who put up five points.

High Tech CV's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for San Ysidro, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

High Tech CV won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January of 2019, slipping by San Ysidro 50-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for High Tech CV since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
