Soccer Recap: Gonzales Triumphs

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Gonzales brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over the Pinewood Panthers on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

They hit Pinewood with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alessandra Tejeda-Ochoa (2), Grecia Valdez-Cisneros, and Janelle Garcia.

Gonzales' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Pinewood, they now have a losing record at 0-1-1.

Gonzales will take on Everett Alvarez in a holiday battle at at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Everett Alvarez is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season. Pinewood and Cupertino will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
