Baseball Recap: Centennial Takes a Loss

Centennial lost to Santiago on Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Huskies came up short against the Sharks, falling 13-4. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Centennial got a good showing from Zuriel Gomez, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Gomez hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in February.

On the hitting side, Michael Nonis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Aiden Simpson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Santiago, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10.

While Centennial had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
